Quad Lock has just introduced Bike Alarm & Finder, a small anti-theft device that combines a motion alarm of 93 dBA, location tracking via Apple Find My, and a fingerprint reader. The idea is to deter the thief and, if they manage to take the bike, help locate it.

Alarm, fingerprint, and Apple Find My in one device

When it detects that someone is tampering with the bike, the Bike Alarm & Finder first emits two warnings. If the movement continues, it activates a 93 dBA alarm to draw attention and try to stop the theft attempt.

Its most striking feature is the fingerprint reader. Just touch it to activate or deactivate the alarm, without having to use the phone or enter codes. It can store up to 20 fingerprints, making it easy to use on shared bikes as well.

If someone manages to take the bike despite the alarm, Apple Find My comes into play, allowing you to check its location from a compatible Apple device. The service does not require a monthly subscription or an additional app.

This is not the first product that combines an alarm and Find My, but Quad Lock bets on the fingerprint to especially simplify its daily use.

It can be hidden under the saddle or next to the bottle holder

Quad Lock allows installation using its mounts, as well as offering adapters to place it under the saddle or in the bottle holder mounts. The included anti-theft screws make it difficult to quickly remove it from the bike.

The device has IP66 protection against water and dust and uses a rechargeable battery with a declared autonomy of at least six months.

The new Quad Lock Bike Alarm & Finder starts at 59.99 euros in Europe and can be used on urban, road, gravel, MTB, and e-MTB bikes.

However, it is an additional layer of security and not a substitute for a lock. The alarm aims to deter tampering, and Find My offers a way to locate the bike after theft, while a good lock remains the element responsible for physically preventing it from being taken.
