Prologo launches the new SNATCH NDR saddle for XC and Marathon
Prologo has introduced the Scratch NDR, an ergonomic saddle specifically for XC and Marathon. The Italian brand has worked closely with several professional teams to improve all the details of this model. The design is based on the well-known Scratch M5, weighs 166 grams and is priced at 219 euros.
Prologo Scratch NDR, in search of comfort at the highest competitive level
If a month ago Prologo was in the news for the launch of its first ergonomic saddle for women, now it is again with the presentation of the Scratch NDR. The new model seeks to refine the details to the maximum to adapt to our anatomy without sacrificing the performance of the most demanding XC and Marathon competitions.
Prologo began designing the Scracth NDR based on the Scratch M5, a saddle used by a large part of the road peloton. After the good reception, the Italians set out to develop, at the request of several professional teams, an ergonomic saddle with the same performance but adapted to the needs of MTB.

The brand relied on feedback from riders from as many as eight different teams: Cannondale Factory Racing, Team BMC Racing, Lapierre Mavic Unity, Wilier-Pirelli Factory Team, DMT Racing Team, BH Coloma Team, BH - Wallonie MTB and Cannondale MTB Professional Team.
The formula was simple: Prologo gave them prototypes, the riders tested them in the race and then gave them feedback. A chain of feedback that served to improve the product that Prologo already had in hand.
A saddle suitable for the most challenging climbs
One of the key features of the Scratch NDR is its climbing ability. This is due in part to its compact dimensions of 250x140 mm and Multi Sector System technology; that is, the saddle has three zones that act independently "adapting to all phases of pedaling and the different positions of the rider," according to the brand.
In particular, the rearward position makes the rear sections more stable on long climbs. In addition, the EVA cushioning is 3 mm thicker in this area.
The "innovative" center section is designed to cope with the steepest and most technical climbs. The saddle has a "wide flat surface" that provides comfort "even when it is necessary to pedal on the top of the saddle".
The technology does not end here, as Prologo has incorporated a Grip Cover with horizontal texture in this part, which helps to maintain a forward position when circumstances require it.
Two versions of the same saddle
The saddle is one of the few points of contact between the rider and the bike. For this reason it is very important that the position is correct, as it will later be one of the keys to combine good levels of performance and comfort.
To this end, Prologo has set back the "anatomical center" by 5 mm in order to increase freedom of movement and to make pedaling more efficient and comfortable in the rearmost part of the saddle, the position usually adopted when tackling long climbs.
The base of the Scracth NDR is made of carbon and features Prologo's Active Base System, Prologo's "pressure relieving" hole for increased comfort.
The Scratch NDR is available in two different versions. On the one hand, the stiffer and lighter with Nack composed of carbon fiber filaments, Kevlar and aluminum, with a weight of 166 grams and a price of 219 euros.
On the other hand, a version more focused on comfort with light alloy steel TiroX that absorbs vibrations better, a weight of 217 grams and a price of 139 euros.
