Porsche shows for the first time its eBike motor
Porsche continues to take steps in the development of its first motor for eBikes. The brand, which has for some time getting involved in the world of electric bikes, has announced that its motor is already in the testing phase. The CEO of the German manufacturer himself has reported that he has tested it and described it as "very promising".
Porsche announces that its eBike motor is getting closer and closer
Like other car brands, Porsche has shown interest in the world of eBikes for years. In fact, the German company has been one of the most committed to this new business strategy.
This is corroborated by the moves they have made in recent times: if in February last year they bought 20% of Fazua, in June they took over the entirety of this company dedicated to manufacturing motors and batteries for eBikes. An action to which we had to add the purchase earlier this year of the Croatian Greyp.

This news gained even more strength when last year it became known that Porsche had begun to develop its own motors for eBikes in what was a definitive commitment to this type of mobility.
Now, after keeping quiet about this motor for many months, Porsche has announced that the motor has passed the initial stages of development and is already in testing.
The "promising" motor to be released in a few years
The announcement was made by Porsche eBike Performance CEO Jan Becker, who reported that "for more than a year, countless hours of design and development have been invested" and added that "many more will be spent in the future".
Becker's statement reflected the brand's eagerness to carve a niche in the market. "We want our new intelligent drive system to set new standards for quality, ease of use and cycling experience."
He also explained that this is a very special moment and that he himself has been able to test the engine in the Alps.
Finally, Becker described the engine as "very promising", although he is aware that this is just another step forward but that there is still "a long way to go".
Porsche is expected to have its first eBike motor ready by the middle of this decade. Despite the uncertainty of the date, the launch can be expected in two or three years.
