Pidcock debuts the Pinarello DOGMA XC at the World Championships and has a second bike that intrigues us

Tom Pidcock is already riding on the Val di Sole circuit, and his arrival at the paddock has revealed a completely renewed aesthetic Pinarello DOGMA XC. Or rather, two. The British rider is training with a new white and red version, but he has also appeared with a second black and gold bike that, for now, remains in a discreet second plan.

Tom Pidcock debuts Pinarello DOGMA XC in Val di Sole and has a second bike that intrigues us

Tom Pidcock is already in Daolasa preparing for the XCO World Championship 2026, a race he will compete in this Sunday, August 30, and arrives as one of the top favorites despite having barely been seen competing in mountain biking throughout the season.

In fact, his only participation in XCO this year was at the Nové Město World Cup, which he won convincingly. That event was also special because it was the first time we saw his Pinarello DOGMA XC and his equipment in the colors of the European champion, a title he had won in 2025. But that decoration now belongs to the past.

Pidcock is no longer the reigning continental champion after the European Championship took place a few weeks ago in Monteceneri, where his compatriot Charlie Aldridge was crowned XCO European champion 2026. And his DOGMA XC has also changed its appearance for the World Championship.

A white and red DOGMA XC... and another black and gold

During training in Val di Sole, we have seen Pidcock riding for a good part of the time with a new Pinarello DOGMA XC where bright white dominates almost the entire frame and the graphics and logos appear in red.

A much simpler aesthetic than the European champion decoration he used in Nové Město, and at least for the time he is spending on it, it seems to be his main bike for preparing the circuit.Pidcock estrena Pinarello DOGMA XC para el Mundial y tiene una segunda bici que nos intriga

However, there is a second DOGMA XC that is quite a bit more intriguing.

Pidcock has also arrived in Val di Sole with another completely different unit, featuring a black decoration with gold details. We have seen it in the background compared to the white one, but the British rider has also ridden with it.Pidcock estrena Pinarello DOGMA XC para el Mundial y tiene una segunda bici que nos intriga

For now, there is no information to confirm which one he will use on Sunday or why there are two such different decorations. It could simply be two bikes prepared for racing and backup, it could also be that he is testing different configurations, or even that the black version is a lighter carbon edition.

Few apparent changes in Pidcock's setup

Beyond the new decorations, the configuration of the DOGMA XC retains much of the solutions that Pidcock has been using since he joined the Pinarello-Q36.5 project.

The suspension system continues to rely on RockShox Flight Attendant, with a SID fork and SIDLuxe shock, while the transmission is a SRAM XX SL Eagle Transmission accompanied by a power meter.

We also find SRAM Motive Ultimate brakes, a wireless RockShox Reverb AXS dropper post, integrated MOST handlebars, and Shimano XTR pedals.

One of the components we already saw on his Nové Město bike and that remains is the Prologo Scratch NDR saddle, developed specifically for XC and Marathon.

Where some uncertainties arise is in tires and wheels.

Vittoria Labs tires and mysterious wheels with textile spokes

The DOGMA XC that Pidcock is using in Val di Sole is fitted with tires identified as Vittoria Labs, a designation linked to the development of competition products from the Italian brand.

And while in Nové Město we saw Pidcock with Zipp 1Zero Hitop SW, the ones appearing on his bike now are much harder to identify. The manufacturer's logos are not visible, and what immediately catches the eye are its black textile spokes.

As we explained in our complete preview of the XCO World Championship 2026, Pidcock and Mathieu van der Poel will be the two big guests of a lineup, but Adrien Boichis arrives as the absolute reference of the season and the newly crowned world champion of Short Track. So on Sunday we will discover which Pinarello DOGMA XC he chooses to compete with and if he is capable of achieving the rainbow jersey again that he won in 2024.
