Pauline Ferrand-Prevot confirms her retirement from MTB: "It's good to leave it like this"
The world champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot has confirmed that at 32 years old this will be her last season in mountain bike. Something that she already hinted at in 2023 and now considers a fact after the Paris Olympics, her last chance to win the only title she is missing.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot retires from mountain bike after the Paris 2024 Olympics
In the World Cup in Nove Mesto, she once again gave a true performance to take the victory and show that her level is still as high as in past seasons. But even more than the victory, an interview she gave to Eurosport caught the most attention.
In this conversation, she confirmed, to some extent, a plan she outlined over a year ago. In April 2023, she hinted that after the Paris Olympics she might retire from mountain biking to perhaps return to the road, the discipline where she started. For now, she has confirmed the first part:
"I think I have achieved everything in MTB and, yes, I still enjoy it, but it doesn't make sense to continue. It is also my last chance to become an Olympic champion at home. It's good to leave it like this."

When Pauline joined the INEOS team last season, there were already rumors that this signing could also serve as the first piece of a future women's road team for the British structure, something that gains strength with this announcement.
