One aero bike and one gravel bike: Kilian Jornet's bikes for his States of Elevation
The mountain athlete Kilian Jornet is immersed in one of the most ambitious projects of his career. He has named it States of Elevation, a titanic challenge that, according to his communication team, is equivalent to completing "a stage of the Tour plus a marathon per day" until reaching the more than 3,218 kilometers that make up the route. For the link sections between mountains, Kilian uses two Trek bicycles, one aero and one gravel, completely customized for the occasion.

If last year we saw him choose the lightest bike from the Wilier catalog to make his incredible journey through the Alps, this time it is the American brand Trek that will support him with two models completely customized through their Project One service.

Kilian is pedaling with a Trek Madone and a Trek Checkpoint for the famous gravel sections of the American West, both equipped with SRAM components.
The Trek Madone is the brand's reference aero bike, used by WorldTour teams like Lidl-Trek, designed to shine in both fast stages and mountain days. And the Trek Checkpoint is Trek's most versatile gravel model, incorporating the IsoSpeed rear system, designed to maximize absorption and comfort on uneven terrain.
Both have been customized with the aesthetics that accompany Jornet in this challenge, including references to NNormal, the footwear and equipment brand that the athlete co-founded.
In some sections, Kilian is receiving occasional support from friends and local cyclists. One of the first to join was Lael Wilcox, considered the fastest woman to cycle around the world, who accompanied him on a long gravel sector.

To date, Jornet has completed four stages of this challenge, accumulating 481 kilometers (between cycling and running) and more than 22,500 meters of positive elevation gain, all in just 75 hours of continuous movement. His progress can be followed through his social networks, where he shares daily updates of this epic adventure.
