New Top Fuel or something different? Trek continues testing a new XCO bike
There are few doubts left that Trek is developing a new XCO bike, and its presentation could be as soon as this year. The signs have been accumulating since last season and point to the fact that the brand is working on a platform different from the current Trek Supercaliber, which remains the competitive base for Trek Factory Racing in the World Cup.
Trek is preparing a new XCO bike
Since the arrival of the Supercaliber, Trek has clearly separated its range with the Supercaliber as a double-specific XCO bike and the Trek Top Fuel as a trail or downcountry bike. Even so, in 2025 we saw several team riders competing with a clearly different Top Fuel prototype.

Evie Richards used a Top Fuel with a completely new rear triangle, without camouflage and easily identifiable. Here you can see it in detail.

However, in recent weeks, new clues have emerged. The team known as Trek Unbroken is currently concentrated in Spain and has published images on social media where the bikes appear deliberately hidden. This reinforces the idea that they are riding a new model or a prototype that has not yet been presented.

From here, several possibilities open up. It could be a new Top Fuel more clearly oriented towards XCO, with less weight and a rear suspension specific for competition. It is also possible that Trek is developing a bike situated between the Supercaliber and the current Top Fuel, designed for the more technical XCO circuits. There is even the option that it is a completely new concept. As for the possibility of a 32-inch prototype, for now, there is no evidence or rumors beyond comments suggesting that some of the main brands will present a model this year in competition.
What seems clear is that Trek has been testing new suspension architectures in competition for some time and that its teams are using material that does not correspond to any current model in the catalog. In the absence of official confirmation, everything points to the fact that the brand is preparing a new XCO bike that could see the light before the end of the year.
