New Mondraker Chrono Carbon DC: information, models and prices
Mondraker has presented the new Chrono Carbon DC. The company from Alicante highlights the versatility of a cross country bike with downcountry specifications and trail capabilities. The model pivots on a 68.5º head angle, 120 mm of fork travel and 2.4" tyres. The range starts at 2,199 euros and weighs in at 11.6 kilos for the lightest version.
Mondraker Chrono Carbon DC: many aces up its sleeve for a bike that will appeal to many types of cyclists
After the launch of the new Chrono DC earlier this year, Mondraker is now back with an update of the Chrono Carbon DC. Both models bear an obvious resemblance to each other and continue the trend - born a few seasons ago - of giving cross country bikes great downhill characteristics.
The Chrono Carbon DC is a hardtail that has made versatility one of its great virtues. Despite flying the cross country banner, the manufacturer from Alicante also gives it all the advantages of a downcountry (DC) and capabilities to enjoy trail riding.

On the other hand, Mondraker defines it as the most powerful of all its carbon hardtails and one of the brand's most successful models.
The carbon frame in Stealth Carbon weighs around 1,150 grams and is designed to give the bike extra versatility that sets it apart from more conventional hardtails. In addition, the design features a minimalist, flat-section top tube reminiscent of the F-Podium.
The Chrono Carbon DC has been inspired by the top-performance full mountain bikes, although it draws most of its inspiration - and inevitably - from the Chrono Carbon. The top version shares the 2.4" tyres, 120mm of fork travel and brake disc sizes of 180mm at the front and 160mm at the rear.
For the geometry, Mondraker has opted for a 68.5° head angle, 74.5° effective saddle angle, 430 mm chainstays, 440 mm reach and 624 mm stack.
The Chrono Carbon DC features internal cable routing, 760mm handlebars and UDH universal dropout. The R and RR versions come with an OnOff Pija dropper post - 120-170mm of travel, depending on size - while the entry-level version has a 31.6mm 6061 T6 aluminium seatpost.
For all these reasons, the manufacturer focuses on the versatility of this bike, with which it aims to seduce cyclists motivated by different interests.
