Canyon Lux Trail 2024: the brand's downcountry comes with lots of new features
Canyon is back with another launch. The German manufacturer has now turned its attention to the Lux Trail 2024, which has undergone a major redesign. The bike makes versatility its banner and navigates between XC and trail, i.e. it can be classified as a downcountry bike. This is the first version that differs significantly from the Lux World Cup model. With this model, the brand is taking on objectives that go beyond the circuits.
The Lux Trail 2024 has undergone a complete overhaul. The front suspension travel remains at 120 mm, while the rear suspension travel is slightly increased to 115 mm. These numbers, together with the new kinematics, make this a bike with great uphill and downhill capability.

The geometry has also been involved in this wave of innovations. Canyon follows the general trend towards a more upright saddle angle - up by 1.5° to 76° - and a more relaxed head angle - down by 0.5° to 67°.
This allows for greater pedalling efficiency, which is essential on ascents, and greater control of the situation on descents.
The Lux Trail 2024 is actually six different models. Despite the differences, they all have a carbon frame - which is less than 2 kilos in the lightest version - and a dropper post.
The remote suspension lockout is also a common denominator in all versions of the range. The rider has a push button on the handlebars to control the suspension as desired. The rider is free to switch between three modes - Open, Pedal and Locked - depending on the situation.
On the other hand, the monopivot rear suspension, similar to the one used in the Lux World Cup, comes with a specific shock absorber setting for sizes XS, S and M.
Canyon also has an integrated storage space in the down tube, which can be accessed via a lid for a Co2 bottle. A mini-tool is integrated under the top tube and there is another tubeless repair kit in the handlebar caps. The bike also has space for two water bottles.
