The Mobile World Congress was the event chosen by Netflix for the screening of the first official trailer of its long-awaited series about the Tour de France in which it shows us the ins and outs of the race during the dispute of the last edition 2022 in which the Danish Jumbo-Visma Jonas Vingegaard won. A video that only increases the expectation for a documentary of which the release date is not yet known.

Expectation grows for the inside of Tour de France created by Netflix

For some time now, people have been talking about the documentary that during the last edition of the Tour de France Netflix was filming in the backroom of the race, the hotels, cars and team buses to show us what we usually don't see of the most important race in the world.

A long-awaited documentary, not only because of the chosen scenario, but also because its creators are the same as those of the famous Drive To Survive series that the channel launched on the world of Formula 1. Unchained, the name by which it is referenced on Netflix's website, will be similar to the format of Drive to Survive, so its success seems assured even before its premiere.

Few details are revealed about the series in the first trailer shown at the Mobile World Congress, the usual in these cases to try to capture attention: team talks, crashes, motivational phrases ... what you can sense is the careful treatment of the image with some spectacular shots, very different from what we usually see on television, although, obviously, combined with images of the competition.

Few other details are known about this documentary beyond the fact that it will consist of 8 episodes or the controversy generated by the non-appearance, beyond the mere presence in the story for the development of the race, of Jonas Vingegaard's Jumbo-Visma, which will have its own documentary series on the Amazon platform, and Tadej Pogacar's UAE-Team Emirates, both the main protagonists of last year's edition.

In any case, the Tour de France is an inexhaustible source of stories so surely this new Netflix documentary will not disappoint cycling lovers, as well as, the main objective ASO sought when it began its collaboration with the digital platform, the general public to which it tries to hook not cycling but the most important race in the world.

In addition to waiting for the release date of this documentary, there is the desire to see the aforementioned Jumbo-Visma, currently only available in the Benelux region, and the announced new season of El Día Menos Pensado, the documentary about Movistar Team that has created a school in Spain.
