Mondraker Dusty: the e-GRAVEL for a pure MTB brand

A glance at the Mondraker catalog is enough to see once again that this is a 100% MTB brand. But the rapid evolution of gravel in recent years has not gone unnoticed by the manufacturer and, in addition, they realized that the origins of this modality are based on fun, on the ability to go further and ultimately, to enjoy off-road terrain, something that fits perfectly with the philosophy that Mondraker applies to all its mountain bikes.

This made Mondrakar's engineers and designers wonder how they could bring their vision, aesthetics and technology to manufacture an e-Gravel that meets the requirements and needs of this modality. If we add to that the knowledge and experience of more than 20 years manufacturing mountain bikes, the result we have is the new Mondraker Dusty.

Total Versatility

For its first gravel bike, Mondraker has sought the greatest versatility of uses and riders, and has therefore decided to include an electric assistance to maximize the limits of this bike. The brand claims that DUSTY is the answer to all those looking to pedal further and faster, with that extra fun that a motor brings to the equation of a gravel bike.

Mondraker states that the 3 most demanded gravel modalities are adventure, long distance and technical terrain. And the Mondraker Dusty responds to all of them as a perfect bike.

The Mondraker Dusty offers the range, load capacity, comfort and confidence for adventure gravel riding: short, explosive one-hour rides to do the day's training at peak performance. Or those 1 or 2 day rides where you need to carry the bike to find a place to sleep or the best scenic route.

For long-distance gravel riding, where you know when you start pedaling but not when you finish, the Dusty has an integrated 350Wh battery, which according to the brand offers up to 180km depending on the level of assistance and gradient. It also has the option of adding a 171Wh range extender.

In more technical terrain, it is the frame design and construction that responds with a great absorption capacity, which provides more comfort and safety in technical areas. For those who need extra cushioning, the DUSTY XR is fitted with a RockShox Rudy fork with 40mm of travel, and a Reverb XPLR AXS dropper post with 75mm of travel.

The frame of the new DUSTY contains the identity of everything Mondraker produces. Aggressive and robust lines and an innovative geometry applied to the new generation of gravel. All this on a frame made of the best carbon of the brand, the STEALTH AIR CARBON.

In terms of dimensions, we find a longer reach, a 70° slack head angle, compact 425mm chainstays and a seat stay design optimized for maximum comfort.

MAHLE X20 SYSTEM

For the electric system of the DUSTY, Mondraker has relied on the Mahle X20, a set of engine (55Nm) and battery (350Wh) that stays at 3.6 kg. One of the best power-to-autonomy-to-weight ratios on the market.

The Mahle X20 engine is integrated into the rear hub and offers a very natural and frictionless power delivery. It has 3 user-configurable assistance modes and the specific firmware for the DUSTY has been developed by Mahle in collaboration with Mondraker.

The system is completed by the Pressfit 386 EVO bottom bracket with integrated potentiometer and cadence sensor, a main controller located on the top tube with battery and assistance level information, a Pulsar ONE Wireless display and remote e-shifters accessible without taking your hands off the handlebars.
