The second stage of Etoile de Bessèges ends with a huge crash

The day had already seen a first and numerous crash that caused a major break in the peloton. And it seems that the nervousness in the chasing group led to the second crash. But this time with worse consequences. The accident happened at the entrance of a bridge and left such dramatic images as the French rider Valentin Ferron (Total Energies) hanging on the outside of the bridge and clinging to avoid falling. Ferron was finally able to climb up and was unhurt.

The organization had to cancel the stage as there were no more ambulances available in the event of an accident. The day remained without a winner and Arnaud De Lie will continue to lead the overall in stage 3.
