MAAP launches its autumn-winter collection with four major new additions

MAAP renews its offering for the toughest months of the year with a new Apex collection specifically developed to continue training when the cold, rain, and short daylight hours arrive. The Australian brand expands its autumn-winter catalog with new garments and accessories, among which stands out a completely new jacket designed for riding for hours in the rain.

MAAP Apex is renewed for autumn-winter

The new Apex Downpour Jacket takes the lead in the collection and represents MAAP's commitment to providing high water protection without excessively compromising breathability during prolonged efforts.

To achieve this, the jacket uses a three-layer outer construction with a waterproof rating of 15,000 mm, fully sealed inner seams, and a PFAS-free DWR treatment.

One of its most interesting features is in the sleeves. MAAP has incorporated ventilation zippers that allow for increased airflow while riding when the intensity of effort rises, without the need to open the front of the jacket.

We also find an inner protection that extends beyond the usual rear tail of this type of garment. This piece incorporates a light silicone grip at the hem to stay close to the jersey and limit the entry of water projected from the road.

Compared to other particularly fitted garments from the brand, the Downpour adopts the Core Fit of MAAP, a pattern aimed at long-duration rides that, in addition to seeking greater comfort during many hours on the bike, leaves room for using different thermal layers underneath.

New Apex Deep Winter Glove 2.0 for temperatures below 5 °C

Cold protection continues in the extremities with the new Apex Deep Winter Glove 2.0, redesigned gloves for riding below 5 °C.

MAAP has sought to reduce their volume to maintain a good feel on the handlebars and controls. To achieve this, it introduces a new anatomical seam in the thumb and a non-slip palm AX Suede.

The thermal protection is provided by PrimaLoft Gold insulation with AeroGel technology on the back of the hand. In addition, there is an inner Hipora membrane designed to protect against wind and water while allowing heat generated during effort to escape.

The nylon cuff has also been redesigned and features a Velcro closure to facilitate placement under the sleeves of the jacket or jersey. The fingers are compatible with touch screens.

Specific protection for the feet

The collection also introduces two new solutions to keep the feet protected during winter.

The Apex Winter Toe Covers are the lightest alternative for cold and wet days when a full shoe cover is not yet necessary. They are made with neoprene of different densities, with 2 mm in the upper area and 3 mm in the lower, as well as specific insulation in the toes and reinforcements in the heel and toe.

For more adverse conditions, the Apex Winter Overshoes arrive, complete shoe covers that do away with the usual rear zipper. Instead, MAAP employs a Velcro closure under the foot that aims to simplify placement and eliminate one of the points susceptible to wear and tear with use.

They also combine different thicknesses of neoprene: 2 mm around the cuff, ankle, and upper part of the foot, and 3 mm in the lower area. Reflective elements complete a design also intended for winter rides with low light.

The Apex Aeon range debuts new colors

The renewal is not limited to garments specifically for rain and extreme cold. MAAP brings back its Apex Aeon collection, designed for long days on the bike with special attention to comfort, breathability, and the feel of the fabrics.

This season it arrives in four new color combinations: Black/White, Lavender Grey, Espresso, and Deep Cobalt.

The autumn-winter Apex range consists of the new Apex Downpour Jacket, Apex Deep Winter Glove 2.0, Apex Winter Toe Covers, and Apex Winter Overshoes, along with existing garments such as the Apex Pro Elements Jacket and Apex Winter Jacket. The collection is completed with the Apex Winter Cap and various garments from the Aeon family, including short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and thermal jerseys, as well as the Apex Aeon Bib Short.
