Koretzky's Specialized Epic WC with which he won in Paris in detail

Frenchman Victor Koretzky has been one of the bikers with the best end to the season, as evidenced by his multiple World Cup victories and his triumph at the Paris Event Test. It was there that we saw him win with the new Specialized Epic WC, a "short rear travel" mountain bike that Specialized presented this year and that could be key in the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024 after seeing the Frenchman win with it on the Olympic circuit.

Victor Koretzky's S-Works Epic WC, won with it at the Paris Event Test and was on the Snowshoe (USA) and Mont Saint Anne (Canada) circuits.

Victor Koretzky's Specialized Epic World Cup in detail

The Specialized Epic WC was launched in 2023 as a mountain bike that combines the best of a hardtail, lightness and reactivity, with the best of a full suspension, absorption and traction. It is a very special bike with a very special shock with only 75mm of travel that has been developed specifically by RockShox.

The Epic WC returns to the XCO aesthetics and philosophy, lightness and reactivity.

But above all, this bike represents a 180º turn in the current paradigm of XCO bikes and instead of following the trend of increasingly larger rear travels, it opts for just the opposite. Something that Trek already advanced with its Supercaliber model and that curiously seemed to work to perfection on the circuit where the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held, as Victor Koretzky took the victory with his Epic WC and Anton Cooper was second on his new Supercaliber 2024.

Full SRAM XX SL AXS drivetrain
S-Works Romin Mirror saddle and RockShox Reverb seatpost (a rare sight on a Koretzky bike, which usually opts for the lightest possible seatpost).
SRAM XX SL crankset (175mm) and chainring with Quark integrated power meter, flattop chain
The matte black finish reveals the carbon layering, the bolt size of the mini-cylinder integrated into the top tube.
Syntace Flatforce Stem
HT Components M2 Pedals
TwinLoc remote lock for fork and rear electronic blip button for seat post
Koretzky also opts for SRAM blips instead of the standard push button for shifting.
Underneath the stem is the control unit for the SRAM blips buttons.
SRAM Level Ultimate brakes with 160mm discs front and rear
Specialized S-Works Carbon Fibre Bottle cage
Renegade Control T7 tyres, identical to the standard tyres at first glance, but Koretzky rides a prototype that could be made with a different compound.
The RockShox-Specialized SIDLuxe WCID Ultimate 75mm shock and Specialized's mini-bar that Specialized has managed to integrate in a minimum of space are a big part of the Epic WC's success.
Only the frame of the S-Works model is made of FACT 12m carbon, the best material of the brand.
