Kenda expands its range of tires for Cross Country with the arrival of the new Kenda Dagger, a model developed as the direct evolution of the well-known Booster XC and designed to meet the demands of modern XCO and XCM. The new tire is positioned within the K-Series family as an intermediate option between the super-fast Rush and the more aggressive Karma 2, seeking a balance between rolling speed, traction, and control.ae26-s4-uci-toni-grases-2893-1785233332483-4

Kenda Dagger: the new competition XC tire is now available in Europe

The Dagger is not just a replacement for the Booster XC, but a complete revision of its concept. Kenda has redesigned the profile to make it rounder and increase the tire volume, as well as incorporating a new distribution of small-sized knobs that improves performance on technical terrain without penalizing efficiency on fast surfaces. The brand itself positions it against established references in the segment such as Continental Xynotal and Kryptotal, Maxxis Rekon, Schwalbe Wicked Will, or the WTB Peacekeeper.

Designed for today's XC

The goal of the Dagger is to adapt to current Cross Country and Downcountry circuits, where speed remains important, but stability and control on technical descents are becoming increasingly prominent.

To achieve this, the tread incorporates low-profile central knobs that reduce rolling resistance and weight, an optimized spacing that favors mud evacuation, more aggressive side knobs to improve cornering support, specific edges to increase braking power, and traction strips that enhance grip on roots, rocks, and slippery surfaces.

According to Kenda, the tire offers its best performance on compact terrain and loose ground on a hard base, although it maintains a balanced behavior also in rocky or wet areas.

Two versions according to use

The new Dagger will be available in two different constructions and its retail price is €66.00 for Spain

The XC version, with a 120 TPI casing, is aimed at those who prioritize lightness and acceleration. In size 29x2.40 it declares a weight of 725 grams and will also be available with coffee-colored sidewalls in addition to the classic black finish.dagger-xc-csk-product-photo-full-size-1785233332452-6

On the other hand, the Trail version, with a 60 TPI casing, increases protection against punctures and stability on descents. Its declared weight is 810 grams, a figure that Kenda highlights as being approximately 90 grams below some direct competitors in the same size. Both versions use a unique rubber compound developed to offer a balance between grip, durability, and low rolling resistance.

With the Dagger, Kenda continues to develop its K-Series concept, based on simplifying tire selection according to three factors: the tread pattern for each discipline, the choice of casing based on the level of protection sought, and a specific compound optimized for each use.
