Trek is the only brand that still maintains direct sponsorship of a top-level cycling team, both in the men's and women's categories. Top level material for cyclists of the stature of Mads Pedersen or Elisa Longo Borghini who had at their disposal the best road models from the Waterloo factory.

Trek, innovation to win in the World Tour

As opposed to mountain biking, it is rare for a cycling brand to have enough economic muscle to maintain almost exclusive sponsorship of a World Tour cycling team.

However, Trek, with the support as co-sponsor of the Segafredo coffee company, is the only bike brand that survives by sporting its name on the jerseys of some of the best cyclists in the world. These are the bikes that the team has used throughout 2022 and will continue to use in the season that now begins after renewing just a couple of years ago its climbing bike model and, during this season, its aerodynamic and gran fondo bikes.

Trek Émonda SLR

Released in mid-2020, Trek's ultralight bike broke away from its traditionally styled design for a more aerodynamic look, adopting the now-obligatory internal cable routing. In the case of the team's bikes, only to guide the brake hoses, when using Trek-Segafredo's SRAM Red eTap AXS wireless groupsets.

Profiled tubes were also added, although with the precaution of keeping the sections sufficiently contained to avoid, as far as possible, an increase in weight.

Trek Madone SLR

A legendary name in the Trek range, since the days when Lance Armstrong popularized this model named after a beautiful French pass near Nice, which the American used for his tests.

Formerly a lightweight bike, Trek opted almost a decade ago to transform it into an aerodynamic bike that has been evolving in recent years, increasingly improving its ability to withstand the wind. In this latest version, launched shortly before the last Tour de France, Trek eliminated the IsoSpeed absorption system and chose a completely new design with a hole to guide the air out of the rear as well as to add some absorption.

Trek Domane SLR RSL

Although conceived as a multi-purpose bike, which even offers a nod to gravel thanks to the possibility of mounting big-ball knobby tyres or details such as the storage system on its down tube, it is still Trek's gran fondo machine, a model on which not so long ago, a certain Fabian Cancellara was the absolute dominator of the cobblestone classics.

Trek does not forget the professionals in this new version, officially presented a few months ago, of adventurous style. For them there is the RSL model, available to the public as a separate frame kit, which dispenses with the storage system and is ideal for facing the classics on the pavé. As an example, Elisa Longho-Borghini's resounding victory at Paris-Roubaix.

Trek Speed Concept

Although few women's time trials are raced throughout the year, there are some real references in the specialty, such as the world champion and current Hour Record holder Ellen van Dijk.

The current Speed Concept is also a recent addition to Trek's catalog. Launched at the end of 2021, it already takes advantage of the current UCI regulations allowing it to be the fastest time trial bike created by the Waterloo engineers.
