Etxeondo returns to Movistar Team: the historic Reynolds and Banesto partnership is back in 2027
Movistar Team will change its clothing supplier for the 2027 season. After four years wearing Gobik kits, the Navarre team has announced its return to Etxeondo, a brand with which it has maintained a close relationship since the days of Reynolds and Banesto, when riders like Pedro Delgado and Miguel Indurain achieved some of the greatest victories of the structure.
Etxeondo returns to the team with which it experienced some of its greatest successes
The agreement, officially announced by Movistar Team, includes both the men's and women's teams and marks the end of the collaboration with Gobik, which began in 2023. During these four seasons, the Murcian brand has been responsible for the team's image, with different designs that have evolved around its characteristic blue and white colors.

The arrival of Etxeondo has a special significance for both parties. The Basque brand dressed this same structure between 1983 and 1991, first under the name Reynolds and later as Banesto, a period in which the team achieved some of its most memorable victories.

With Etxeondo kits, Ángel Arroyo finished second in the 1983 Tour de France, Pedro Delgado won the Tour in 1988, and Miguel Indurain claimed his first victory in the French round in 1991.
That collaboration also coincided with significant changes in competition clothing. Etxeondo participated in the introduction of new elastic fabrics, synthetic chamois, and aerodynamic solutions that gradually replaced the traditional garments used until then.
The brand, founded in 1976 and celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, currently maintains its production activity in Irura (Gipuzkoa) and Castejón (Navarra).
The new Movistar Team kit for 2027
Beyond the historical component, the agreement includes joint work to develop the clothing that the team's cyclists will wear. Aerodynamics, comfort, and thermal protection will be some of the main areas of focus, with the riders themselves participating in the testing and evolution of the garments.
Etxeondo will also take advantage of this collaboration to incorporate the solutions developed and tested in competition into its commercial collections.
So far, neither party has revealed the final design of the Movistar Team kit for 2027. What is already confirmed is that the team will recover a brand closely linked to its history, thus closing a four-season chapter with Gobik and opening another with one of its most emblematic suppliers.
