Enric Mas discovers during the Giro that he was wearing the women's Movistar jersey
Enric Mas has been the protagonist of one of the most curious images of the 2026 Giro d'Italia without realizing it. The leader of Movistar Team has been competing in several stages of the race wearing the women's version of the team's official jersey and was unaware of the mistake until social media began to point out a very specific detail on his chest.
Why is Enric Mas competing in the women's team jersey?
The Balearic cyclist, who is competing in the first Giro of his career, appeared for several days wearing an outfit that included the distinctive "UCI Women’s World Team", the logo reserved for women's WorldTour structures. The images quickly circulated among fans and photographers attentive to the detail, especially since the rest of the design is practically identical to that used by the men's Movistar team.
The confusion went completely unnoticed by Mas himself. According to what he later explained to the newspaper AS, it was all due to a simple error in the distribution of the team's clothing before the race.

"It's a small mistake, nothing special", assured the Spanish rider. "I wear a small size and maybe they made a mistake when handing me the clothes, but it's no big deal."
The most striking thing is that Enric Mas himself admitted that he never suspected anything unusual despite the jersey being particularly tight-fitting. The Mallorcan explained that both the jersey and the shorts fit perfectly and that the only real difference was the women's logo printed on the garment.
"I didn't realize, I just put on the clothes," explained Mas. "Everything was my size, including the shorts. The only difference was the logo."
The anecdote comes at a delicate sporting moment for the Movistar Team rider. After the first days in the mountains, Mas has lost a lot of time in the general classification and faces the second week far from the favorites.
He will start the time trial of stage 10 in 28th position in the general classification, 13:42 behind Jonas Vingegaard. Nevertheless, Mas's goal remains to improve during the race and seek opportunities in the last week of the Giro, especially in the mountain stages where he hopes to regain sensations after the physical problems and injuries that have affected his recent seasons.
