Avinox continues to gain ground among high-performance e-MTBs, and Ducati is the latest brand to adopt its system. The new Ducati DM-160 R and DM-170 RR feature a carbon platform with an 800 Wh battery and the Avinox M2S motor.

These are the two new e-MTBs that Ducati has just presented within its Cycling MY2027 range at the 2026 International Bike Festival in Misano. They share the frame and electrical system, but they clearly differ in their setups: the DM-160 R uses 160 mm and 29" wheels, while the DM-170 RR increases to 170 mm and adopts a mullet configuration.

Ducati bets on Avinox for its new e-MTBs

The two new Ducatis use the Avinox M2S, the most powerful motor of the new generation Avinox, which offers a maximum power of 1,300 W and 130 Nm of torque, although in Boost mode that figure increases to 150 Nm.

The autonomy is provided by an 800 Wh battery, and additionally, this system incorporates sensors to manage assistance, GPS, and connectivity via eSIM.

Adjustable geometry, progression, and wheel size

The two new eMTBs from Ducati share a new frame that stands out for being configurable for both suspension travel and its geometry and wheel size.

And it is precisely this configuration that Ducati takes advantage of to offer two models. The DM-160 R uses 29" front and rear with 160mm, while the DM-170 RR comes directly with a mullet configuration of 29"/27.5" and 170mm.
