Correos and Etxeondo recover an icon of Spanish cycling: the yellow jersey of La Vuelta 1985
Correos has recovered one of the most iconic jerseys in the history of Spanish cycling. The launch is part of a special edition for La Vuelta 2026 and recovers the unmistakable yellow design with the Correos Caja Postal logo, an image that for years identified the leader of the Spanish round and has been etched in the memory of an entire generation of fans.

A tribute to one of the great symbols of Spanish cycling
The initiative pays tribute to Perico Delgado's historic victory in the 1985 Vuelta, the first grand tour conquered by the Segovian and one of the most remembered moments in Spanish cycling.

For decades, the yellow jersey sponsored by Correos was the distinguishing mark of the leader of La Vuelta before the race adopted the gold color and later red as the symbol of the general classification. That image of Perico dressed in yellow remains one of the most representative snapshots in the history of the event.
To present this reissue, Delgado himself stars in a video where he relates the meaning of the jersey to the concept of leadership.
“Leading is not being first. Being first is a moment. Leading is adapting in each stage and setting the pace. It is changing to not stop being who you are.”
The former cyclist also recalls that the true challenge is not just to reach the lead.
“The hard part is never arriving. The hard part is maintaining it. The yellow has always had the same meaning. What changes is everything that must be done to continue deserving it.”
Manufactured by Etxeondo with current materials
Although the design reproduces the aesthetics of the 1985 jersey, the garment uses modern materials and technologies developed by Etxeondo.
It is made with Microsystem Superdry fabric to promote sweat evacuation and incorporates three elastic rear pockets, SPF 50+ sun protection and a pattern designed to offer a balance between comfort and performance both in training and on cycling outings.
According to the product technical sheet, it is recommended for temperatures between 18 and 35 degrees and offers a rating of 4 out of 5 in lightness, 4.5 out of 5 in breathability, and 4 out of 5 in fit.
