Colnago G4-X: double competitive gene to dominate in gravel and cyclocross

The uncertainty of the beginning is now history and it is one of the segments that is on the rise. Colnago has understood the game and with this announcement has already unveiled two gravel models, with the addition that the G4-X is also designed for cyclocross.

Colnago is experiencing a boom. Unlike the difficulties faced by many other companies in the cycling industry, the Italian firm is in a good economic moment. Now, it aims to take advantage of this positive momentum to launch the G4-X and add another member to the gravel family - which already includes the C68 Gravel and the G3-X-.
The G4-X draws on the competitive gene that is a hallmark of a brand like Colnago, which bases part of its reason for being on the multitude of successes it has achieved in professional cycling throughout its long history and the victories it continues to achieve today. Thus, if the C68 Gravel was a sophisticated piece of competition disguised, the racing spirit beats unabashedly in a G4-X that has been designed with the sole purpose of competing.
The differences between the C68 Gravel and the G4-X are significant. The first is handmade in Italy, has a modular frame, and accepts tires up to 42 mm wide; the second is manufactured in Asian territory, the frame is more rigid - with variations in stiffness depending on the area - and accepts tires up to 45 mm wide.
The G4-X is inspired by the V4RS in the shape of the tubes; it is, in a way, an adaptation for gravel and cyclocross.
The internal cabling has been updated through the handlebar and stem. In addition, Colnago offers the possibility of buying the G4-X with stem and handlebar in two pieces or with the integrated cockpit CC.01 Wide. In terms of geometry, it has a reach of 390 mm, stack of 573 mm, head tube angle of 71.5°, and seat tube angle of 73.5°.
On the other hand, it is equipped with four mounting points to install bottle cages or small bags and comes with T47 bottom bracket and seatpost clamp.
The range is available in five sizes and consists of five different setups: first, the versions with Shimano GRX 82 2x and Shimano GRX 820 1x - both with Fulcrum Rapid Red 900db wheels - are priced at 4,330 euros; in another tier is the setup with SRAM Rival XPLR and Fulcrum Rapid Red 900d wheels sold for 4,830 euros.
The offer continues with a model with SRAM Force XPLR and Fulcrum Rapid Red 500d wheels for 5,170 euros. And finally, the most special version comes with SRAM Red XPLR and Zipp 303s wheels and is priced at 8,870 euros.
