Bianchi confirms it will continue operating despite financial troubles and prepares a new strategy
Bianchi has wanted to send a message of reassurance to its distributors and customers after the delicate economic situation it is facing became known. The historic Italian brand confirms that it is maintaining its activity, deliveries, and after-sales service while preparing a new strategy focused on competition, gravel, and high-performance bicycles. The first models of this new phase will arrive in early 2027.
Bianchi confirms it will continue operating while negotiating its financial restructuring
Just two days after the details of its economic crisis became known, Bianchi has issued a statement clarifying its current situation and, above all, how it intends to face the future.

The company insists that it continues to operate under its current management team and that the creditor protection procedure does not imply a halt to its commercial or industrial activity.

According to the statement sent this Thursday, November 5, to Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, the goal of the restructuring is to return the company to a sustainable financial situation after several particularly complicated years, both for Bianchi and for the entire cycling industry.
The brand has also wanted to dispel one of the main concerns that arose after its economic problems became known: it will continue to make deliveries, honoring applicable warranties, and offering after-sales service to its customers, in addition to maintaining relationships with its main suppliers.
Less dispersion and more competition, gravel, and high-performance bicycles
Beyond reassuring the market, the statement anticipates a significant change in Bianchi's commercial strategy.
The company intends to concentrate its efforts on three areas it considers fundamental to its identity: competition bicycles, gravel, and high-performance models.

This approach aligns with statements made recently by Tony Grimaldi, interim CEO of Bianchi, who acknowledged that the company had made the mistake of simultaneously investing in too many segments.
In recent years, Bianchi had undertaken an ambitious expansion that included a new factory in Treviglio, the development of electric bicycle ranges, and the growth of its international distribution structure. All of this coincided with excess inventory and declining profitability that followed the boom in cycling during the pandemic.
The new strategy points towards a business more focused on products traditionally associated with the brand, although Bianchi has not yet detailed which ranges it will reduce, which models might disappear, or how this change will affect its electric bicycle catalog.
What has been confirmed is that the first products developed under this new approach will be presented in early 2027.
A new direction coinciding with its exit from the WorldTour
The announcement also comes at a particularly significant moment for Bianchi's sports presence.
The brand has just ended its collaboration with Bahrain Victorious after a single season, despite an initially announced multi-year agreement. The WorldTour team has already confirmed that it will use Factor bicycles starting in 2027.
This exit leaves Bianchi without a sponsored team in the men's WorldTour for the upcoming season, precisely when competition is once again among its commercial priorities.
For now, the company has not announced new sponsorship agreements nor explained how it will translate its renewed commitment to competition bicycles into its presence in professional cycling.
Bianchi also clarifies its relationship with the Cycleurope group
Another point in the statement relates to the company's corporate structure. Bianchi has specified that it belongs to Bianchi Holding AB, which is part of the Swedish group Grimaldi Industri AB, owned by the Grimaldi family.
The group is also linked to Cycleurope AB, owner of other bicycle brands, but Bianchi has wanted to emphasize that Cycleurope is a legally and financially independent entity from Bianchi Holding.
This clarification allows for a differentiation between Bianchi's situation and that of the other companies in the group and delineates the corporate scope of its restructuring process.
The coming months will be decisive for Bianchi
The procedure initiated by the company provides a protection period during which it must negotiate new agreements with its creditors. The initial deadline extends until the end of January 2027, with the possibility of extension until the end of May.
Bianchi will then have to reach a solution for its debt and demonstrate that its new commercial strategy can restore profitability to the business.
With 141 years of history, Bianchi is now trying to regain stability by relying on what has defined its identity for decades: sports and competition bicycles.
