A disc went through the axs battery, but it kept working!
South African Candice Lill has shared one of the most surprising, and new, breakdowns we've seen lately at the World Cup. During the Lenzerheide Short Track a teammate's disc went through the Sram battery of her AXS front derailleur.
The AXS battery was cut by a disc, but continued to operate
During the Lenzerheide World Cup Short Track, the reigning African XCO and XCM champion Candice Lill didn't even realize that her SRAM AXS derailleur had been damaged in the race. She finished in a creditable 25th position and it was later, while checking the mechanics, that she realized that the shifter battery was almost completely cut off.
In her social networks she has recreated how it had to happen and indeed, the cut coincides with the width of a brake disc. The surprising thing is that it did not stop working and not even the battery jumped from the impact.
