1 million dollars in prizes: MyWhoosh announces its 7-stage virtual Tour

MyWhoosh will return this summer with one of the most ambitious competitions in virtual cycling. The indoor cycling platform has officially announced the return of the MyWhoosh Championships 2026, a seven-day stage race that will distribute one million dollars in prizes and aims to become the largest amateur virtual Tour ever organized.

The event will take place during the month of July and will maintain the format that made the 2025 edition one of the major events in competitive indoor cycling. Participants will have to complete seven consecutive stages from their own smart trainer, with a final overall classification based on the accumulated time for the entire week, just like in a professional grand tour.

MyWhoosh explains that the goal of this competition is not only to create explosive e-sports races but to replicate the real experience of a stage race. Matt Smithson, Director of E-sports and Game Operations for the platform, summarizes the concept: “Almost no one outside the professional peloton has the opportunity to compete in a seven-day Tour. For a week in July, our users can experience from home the kind of effort that a professional faces. It is really tough, but also a lot of fun.”

The 2025 edition brought together riders from 47 different countries, who collectively completed more than 200,000 virtual kilometers and accumulated over 6,000 hours on the bike. For 2026, MyWhoosh aims to double the number of participants and turn the event into the largest shared experience in amateur virtual cycling.

One of the major attractions will once again be the gigantic cash prize. The one million dollars will be distributed equally between men and women and will be divided into six different competitive categories. In addition to the overall classification, there will also be specific prizes for the sprint and mountain classifications, with corresponding virtual KOM/QOM jerseys.

But the platform wants to go beyond just financial rewards for the top performers. All cyclists who manage to complete the seven stages will receive a MyWhoosh gift package valued at over 700 dollars, regardless of their final position. This means that it will not be necessary to fight for the podium to receive a reward, but simply to complete the entire challenge.

MyWhoosh will also maintain its "Power Passport" verification system, a test designed to validate the power data of participants and ensure competitive fairness among thousands of users. According to the company, the process can be completed in a single short session, and runners who have recently participated in the Sunday Race Club may be automatically validated.

The platform will also continue to apply its anti-doping and competitive integrity program, a pioneering policy in virtual cycling that seeks to protect the integrity of competitions and reinforce the credibility of results. MyWhoosh assures that it will continue to conduct checks and verifications during the championship to ensure that performance reflects only the true level of each rider.

Although the routes will be completely new compared to 2025, the organization has confirmed that both the total distance and the accumulated elevation will be very similar to those of the previous edition, thus maintaining the spirit of a true indoor grand tour.
