Will we see Pogačar debut in the Paris-Roubaix 2025?
The world champion Tadej Pogacar could be considering making his debut in the Paris-Roubaix this season. Or at least that's what many agree on after the Slovenian shared a video of himself training on the iconic cobbled sector of Arenberg.
Tadej Pogacar in the Paris-Roubaix 2025?
"The hell of the north" doesn't seem like the ideal race for a cyclist like Tadej Poga?ar, but if there's one thing the current winner of the Giro, Tour, and World Championships has shown us, it's that he is capable of winning whatever he sets his mind to.
He himself has fueled the rumors by posting a video on his social media this Monday where he is seen training on one of the toughest sections of the Paris-Roubaix, the iconic five-star Trouée d'Arenberg.

A few hours later, it was Joxean Fernández Matxín, sports director of UAE Emirates, who explained the situation to journalist Daniel Benson:
"He was testing equipment, tires, bikes, and was riding with them and analyzing the key moments of those races. Tim (Wellens) is preparing for the Paris-Roubaix and Tadej went with him. At this moment, we have not considered Roubaix in his schedule. As planned, he will stop after the Tour of Flanders and prepare for the Ardennes Classics."
But he still left a possibility open: "We can't talk about this. Maybe after Flanders, he has good confidence, everything depends on the situation, but not at this moment."
It is also worth remembering the statements that Pogacar himself made last December about the possibility of seeing him debut in the Paris-Roubaix in 2025:
"It's not a definitive decision to skip it, and maybe I can still do it. I don't think it's the race that suits me best, but I still have time to try it in another year."
The main drawback of Roubaix for a cyclist like Pogacar is the inherent risk of the race. It is a test with high chances of crashes, which could hinder the season of a cyclist whose main goals for 2025 are to once again win the Tour and World Championships.
