We tested the new Gobik Superarmour jacket: a complete analysis of a jacket designed to forget about the cold while riding a bike
The Gobik Superarmour arrives as one of the most ambitious proposals from the Murcia-based brand to combat winter. A jacket designed for extreme temperatures, with a surprisingly lightweight construction aimed at cyclists who train no matter what. We have had the opportunity to test it over an extended period in various cold conditions, with wind, humidity, and long routes, and although we haven't ridden below -1 °C in our area, we have put it to the test in sufficiently demanding scenarios to analyze it thoroughly. In this article, we explain in detail how it performs and why it is a garment that deserves its own analysis.
Gobik SuperArmour, a jacket for cyclists who don't stop in winter
The Superarmour is part of the UNITY Cold26 collection and is designed to offer thermal control in a very demanding range: from -8 °C to 7 °C. In other words, we are not dealing with a "warm" jacket in the usual sense, but rather an advanced system designed for cold climates, sustained wind, and humidity.
This is not a garment intended for those who ride "if the weather is nice," but for cyclists who truly train throughout the winter, even when the weather worsens.

Gobik has been consolidating its presence in high performance thanks to strategic collaborations with top-level teams and organizations. Its work alongside WorldTour formations, textile laboratories, and technology providers is clearly elevating the quality of its garments. This Superarmour is a good example: it emerges from that ecosystem of shared innovation, integrating materials and solutions originally created for military missions or professional applications in extreme cold. These collaborations are pushing Gobik into a new stage where each launch not only responds to trends but also brings tangible advances in protection, insulation, and thermal management.

Outer membrane eVent® DVstorm™
The outer layer uses one of the most advanced membranes on the market for thermal garments. It offers:
- Waterproofing of 10,000 mm.
- High breathability: 20,000 g/m²/24h.
- 99% windproof.
- Extremely low air permeability (0.2 CFM).
Its ability to expel moisture makes it notably superior to many classic softshells, avoiding that typical cold sweat feeling in overly sealed jackets.

Interior with Polartec® Alpha®
Inside, we find Polartec Alpha at 68 g/m², an insulation originally developed for U.S. special forces. It is characterized by:
- Retaining heat without trapping sweat.
- Very fast drying.
- Extraordinary lightness.
- Excellent thermal regulation.

Despite being a jacket designed for extreme cold, its weight is only 390 g in size M.
Design and finishes: every element has a purpose
The growth of Gobik in design has not been a matter of adding layers or details for the sake of it. Every element of this Superarmour responds to a very clear functional objective. The brand has refined the pattern, materials, and architecture of the garment so that each panel, each seam, and each closure work together: to protect, seal, ventilate, and allow movement even in adverse conditions. It is not about adding embellishments; everything has a technical reason and a direct benefit for the cyclist.

- YKK Vislon AquaGuard® zipper with magnetic flap: The YKK zipper guarantees protection against wind and water, and is very easy to operate even with gloves, and thanks to the magnetic flap included in this jacket, we will avoid leaks and chafing.
- Zip cuffs: An outstanding detail of the Superarmour is its zip cuffs, which allow you to adjust the jacket to thick gloves without leaving open spaces. Providing thermal comfort and ease of use in any situation.
- Rear access to jersey pockets: This has undoubtedly been one of the smartest ideas for this Superarmour: instead of integrating pockets into the jacket (which would add weight and stiffness), you access the jersey pockets through two side zippers. This way, you can easily grab gels, your phone, or bars without having to open the jacket.
- Internal pockets: Includes two internal mesh pockets for items that need more protection against the cold.
- Taped seams and reflective details: All seams of the Superarmour are taped, ensuring waterproofing against wind and heavy rain, and the reflective details will give us greater visibility in low-light conditions.
Fit and sensations in use
The Superarmour has a fitted but comfortable cut. Although it protects like an "armored" jacket, it does not feel rigid or clumsy. The Polartec Alpha provides freedom of movement and avoids the feeling of weight.

In motion, there is a very successful combination of insulation, thermal control, and freedom of movement. The jacket retains heat without creating uncomfortable accumulations, offers thermal stability even when changing position on the bike, and allows the shoulders and arms to work naturally. The result is a very characteristic feeling of a "thermal bubble" that protects without overheating.
Performance of the Superarmour in real conditions
Tested in temperatures between 3 °C and 7 °C with wind and humidity, the Superarmour has demonstrated a very balanced performance: it completely protects against the wind, avoids the cold sweat feeling on long climbs, and maintains constant thermal stability even when the pace changes abruptly. Additionally, its lightness stands out compared to other jackets designed for intense cold, which is especially appreciated on long routes with a lot of upper body movement. Although we have not yet been able to use it in temperatures of -5 °C or lower, everything in its construction—from the eVent membrane to the Polartec Alpha insulation—suggests that its performance in harsher scenarios will be even more remarkable.

Who is this jacket for?
The Superarmour is a particularly interesting option for cyclists who train in cold or very cold climates and face long routes during the winter. It is also very suitable for those who frequently ride in windy areas or light rain, and for those who prefer to simplify their gear by avoiding the use of multiple layers. In general, it is a garment aimed at those looking for a balanced combination of insulation and outstanding breathability.

Its extremely technical focus makes it not the best option for those who only ride between 6 °C and 12 °C, or for cyclists who prefer more elastic and less structured garments. It is also not the right choice if you do not need protection for truly cold conditions, as its potential is fully realized only in demanding winter scenarios.

The Gobik Superarmour is an extraordinary jacket for those who demand maximum performance in winter. Its materials combine extreme protection with breathability that is hard to match. Every detail is designed to function under adverse conditions without compromising comfort or mobility.
If you train seriously during the winter, it is a garment that stands among the best on the current market and a clear option within its category.
