The Visma-Lease a Bike extends Vingegaard and Sepp Kuss contracts

Jonas Vingegaard and Sepp Kuss will continue to be cyclists for Visma-Lease a Bike until 2028 and 2027 respectively. The Dutch squad thus ties up its two leaders in terms of tours and, in turn, also extends the contract of Fem van Empel, who is expected to be one of the great dominators of world cycling in the coming years.

With just a few hours left for the official presentation of Visma-Lease a Bike, where the entire squad will be presented after a turbulent autumn with interesting signings such as Matteo Jorgenson or high-profile departures in the figure of Primoz Roglic, in addition to the failed attempt to merge with Soudal-QuickStep and a lot of rumors about new sponsorships, the team has wanted to tie up all loose ends and finalize the contract extension of its two leaders.

Both Sepp Kuss and Jonas Vingegaard will remain linked to the yellow team, a color that the Dutch squad will continue to maintain after revealing the design of the new jersey in which we see for the first time the sponsor Lease a Bike that replaces the Jumbo supermarket chain.

In the case of Sepp Kuss, his new contract will extend until the end of 2027, an extension in which, in addition to his sporting successes with La Vuelta 2023 as a presentation card, the importance of the North American market for the new sponsor Lease a Bike has surely also weighed. On the other hand, the renewal of Jonas Vingegaard seemed obvious as he is the current winner of the last two editions of the Tour de France.

The contract extension of the two pillars of the men's team is also joined by, within the women's squad, that of Fem van Empel who at 21 years old dominates cyclocross at will and has already shown promise on the road throughout this season. It would not be strange, given her trajectory, if she became the next dominator of women's cycling. That is why Visma-Lease a Bike has decided to secure her services at least until 2027, which is when her contract extension has been signed.
