Val di Sole breaks record of applications, but only 8 teams receive invitation for the XCO World Cup
The International Cycling Union (UCI) and the organizer Warner Bros. Discovery Sports have confirmed the list of teams that will participate by invitation (wildcard) in the Val di Sole World Cup event, from June 20 to 22 in Val di Sole, Trentino (Italy). A total of 16 teams have been selected: eight for cross-country (XCO) and eight for downhill (DHI).
These are the invited teams to the Val di Sole MTB World Cup
In downhill, all teams that requested an invitation secured their spot. However, in XCO, only eight were chosen out of a total of 23 applications, the highest number since this selection system was implemented this season.
Although many of the teams have already competed in other events on the 2025 calendar, the Italian race will mark the debut of two local squads, one in downhill and one in XCO. The Abetone Ancillotti Vittoria Factory Team, with a strong presence in Enduro, will make the leap to DH with an all-Italian lineup that combines the experience of Tommaso Francardo with the emerging talent of Clarissa Carzolio, both with outstanding results in the Enduro World Cup in Pietra Ligure.
