UNNO receives a visit from Pedro Sánchez in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress
The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, took advantage of his presence in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress to visit the facilities of the MTB brand UNNO, one of the Spanish brands with the greatest international projection in the premium segment.
Up to 60 bikes a week from Barcelona: this is how UNNO showed its factory to Pedro Sánchez
The visit is not a coincidence. Sánchez is a declared fan of mountain biking, especially enduro, a discipline he practices regularly. Throughout his term, he has shown interest in the cycling sector with gestures such as his meeting with the Spanish MTB team at the World Championship in Andorra or his visit to the Mondraker factory. On this occasion, the focus was on the industrial ecosystem that UNNO represents in Barcelona.

The president was received by the founder of the brand, César Rojo, who accompanied him on a tour of the evolution of UNNO from its first models to the current range. During the visit, Rojo explained the manufacturing, assembly, and integration processes carried out at the Barcelona headquarters, where the company is capable of producing between 50 and 60 complete bicycles a week.

Special attention was given to some models whose manufacturing is entirely national, an aspect that the brand is emphasizing within its industrial and positioning strategy.
The company is also experiencing a significant transformation. In recent months, it has presented its new official teams for the World Cup and has expanded its structure by incorporating the Felt brand, specialized in road and gravel.
The acquisition of Felt by César Rojo and his partner Florian Burguet reinforces the group's ambition to grow into new modalities, relying on the previous experience and positioning of the American brand. This new strategic phase is now also coordinated from Barcelona.
The visit was shared on social media by the president's official account, generating all kinds of comments. Among them, there have been notable messages calling for a reduction in the VAT on bicycles in Spain, in line with what has been applied in Portugal: “Now to lower the VAT on bikes like our Portuguese neighbors, right?”
The fiscal debate on the bicycle as a mobility tool and as a strategic industry thus returns to public conversation, at a time when the Spanish sector seeks to consolidate production, employment, and international projection.
