Unexpected breakup: Olivia Onesti and the BH Coloma Team part ways
The relationship between Olivia Onesti and the BH Coloma Team has come to an end at one of the most unexpected moments of the calendar. The Spanish team announced this Tuesday that both parties have decided to part ways "by mutual agreement" just as the XCO World Cup season has barely started and the French rider had hardly competed this year.
Olivia Onesti leaves the BH Coloma Team in the middle of the World Cup season
The statement released by the team explains that the decision was made consensually and on good terms. “After last season and these first months of working together, both parties have decided to close this sporting chapter by mutual agreement,” explained the BH Coloma Team, which also thanked the rider for “her work and professionalism during this stage.”
The news is particularly surprising given Onesti's sporting context. The 22-year-old French rider joined the BH Coloma Team in 2025 as one of the major future bets of international XCO and completed a season of tremendous growth. She secured several podiums in the Under-23 World Cup and made a significant media leap by becoming the absolute French champion of XCO after defeating Loana Lecomte.

This title definitively confirmed Onesti as one of the young riders with the most potential on the circuit and seemed to fit perfectly into a project like the BH Coloma Team, which in recent years has strongly invested in international young talent.
However, the situation has changed radically in just a few months. Onesti, who suffered a concussion and shoulder fracture a few months ago, had barely appeared in competition at the start of 2026 and now both parties are putting an end to their relationship just as the World Cup enters its most intense phase of the calendar.
At the moment, no further details are known about the reasons for the separation. The French rider has also not published any additional statement nor explained what her immediate future will be. In fact, it is currently unclear whether she will continue competing this season or if she will seek a new team to return to the international circuit later on.
A departure so early and in the middle of the season always raises questions, especially concerning a rider who just a few months ago seemed destined to establish herself among the references of European XCO.
