Sina Frei offered a very different but equally decisive race. The Swiss rider took the initiative from the early laps and ended up breaking away solo to claim the rainbow jersey. Behind her, Martina Berta and Nicole Koller battled for silver in a sprint, with the Italian prevailing right at the finish line.

With the World Championship concluded, the XCO season now enters its final phase. The World Cup will return on September 19 and 20 in Soldier Hollow, Midway (Utah, USA), before continuing from October 2 to 4 in Lake Placid Olympic Sites, New York (USA).
