The UCI forces changes to be made to the course of the XCO World Cup in Araxá
The Araxá XCO World Cup is just a few hours away from starting and although its course had raised a lot of expectations among some cyclists due to its technicality, Nino Schurter himself admitted that he was looking forward to trying it after recognizing it on foot, the UCI has forced some changes to avoid risks.
Last minute changes in the Araxá XCO World Cup circuit
Just like it happened in 2022, at the Brazilian circuit of Petropolis, the UCI has indicated that some important last-minute changes be made to the Araxá circuit.
The Araxá XCO course is characterized by its large number of drops, jumps, and rock gardens, all recreated artificially. This will increase the technical level of the race and in the eyes of the UCI could also cause some avoidable accidents.
The first training sessions on the circuit were scheduled to take place at noon, local time, today Thursday, April 18, but after an initial inspection by the commissioners, it has been decided to delay the start time to modify the reception of some jumps. Specifically, the most striking change is covering the pit of the jump that can be seen in the images, but more changes could occur after checking that there are at least up to 16 jumps on the circuit.
