Trek unveils a completely new XCO in Spain
The Trek Unbroken has inaugurated the XCO season in the most anticipated way for cross-country fans with the appearance of a completely new dual suspension XCO bike on the La Nucía (Alicante) circuit.
The Trek Unbroken debuts in La Nucía a prototype? totally new XCO
What until now were rumors has materialized into a much clearer image of what Trek is preparing for this season. A model that breaks away from the solutions of the Trek Supercaliber and the Top Fuel to fully embrace the current trends of high-level XCO.
This new "prototype," still without a confirmed name and pending official presentation, features a single-pivot rear suspension system and a horizontally positioned shock, moving away from the IsoStrut concepts of the Supercaliber and the more "trail" approaches of the Top Fuel.

From what we have seen, all the team riders already have a unit of this new model in a striking purple color signed by Trek's Project One service, although not all used it in competition. The images suggest a rear travel around 110–120 mm as it seems to feature the current RockShox SIDLuxe ULTIMATE Flight Attendant shock.

This architectural change makes the new model fit much better with the bikes that are dominating top-level XCO, such as the Specialized Epic 8, the Orbea Oiz, the latest generation Giant Anthem, or the Canyon Lux, bikes that combine active and efficient suspension without punishing weight. Compared to the Top Fuel prototypes seen last year, the La Nucía prototype seems to respond to a more specific conception of a current competition bike.

In La Nucía, the new bike has been visible among the Trek Unbroken material from different angles, although without technical details or official figures from the brand. Trek has not yet communicated anything about specifications, exact travel, commercial name, or when it might hit the market. However, its appearance in an international test and in the hands of almost all its riders confirms that the project is very advanced and that the American brand has opted for a platform very different from what it had in its catalog until now.
