Total domination by Jenny Rissveds in Lake Placid
The world champion Jenny Rissveds (Canyon CLLCTV XCO) once again showed that she is in extraordinary form and took another victory in the XCO World Cup 2025, this time in Lake Placid (USA), clearly beating Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing - Pirelli) and Savilia Blunk (Decathlon Ford Racing Team).
Rissveds breaks away from the start and controls the race from start to finish
From the start, the Swedish rider took control of the race. In the initial loop, she controlled the early attacks from Laura Stigger and, from the first lap, she began to open a gap with a constant and devastating pace. By the second lap, she was already leading with almost a minute advantage and, halfway through the race, her lead exceeded two minutes over the chasing group.
Behind, the excitement was focused on the battle for the podium. Evie Richards, Savilia Blunk, Samara Maxwell, and Alessandra Keller formed a group that gradually broke up as the laps went by. Keller, very active in the middle part, ended up paying for her effort and dropped back in the sixth lap, while Maxwell and Blunk kept up with Richards.

In the penultimate lap, British rider Evie Richards launched a decisive attack that allowed her to open a few seconds gap over Blunk and Maxwell. The American rider tried to resist, but couldn't match the pace of the 2021 world champion.
With this result, Jenny Rissveds confirms her absolute dominance of the season with another victory in the XCO World Cup. Evie Richards returns to the podium with a solid second place after a smart and consistent race, while Samara Maxwell, in third place, achieves a crucial result that should allow her to be crowned the overall winner of the XCO World Cup 2025 in the next race in Canada.
UPDATE: There was an error with the overall classification of the World Cup and the victory is still up for grabs. Everything will be decided in Canada between Jenny Rissveds and Samara Maxwell.
