Today's X2O Koksijde Trophy was going to be one of the last opportunities of the season to see the three greats of cyclocross compete together, but it will no longer be so after the withdrawal due to illness of the British Tom Pidcock.

Without confirmation from the rider or his team, INEOS Grenadier, it was the organizers of the X2O Koksijde Trophy who announced Pidock's withdrawal due to illness: "We received an email this afternoon from Tom Pidcock's team. The Briton is sick and will not start"

Despite the absolute dominance of Van der Poel during this cyclocross season, Tom Pidcock is being another of the main protagonists both in results and in performances through important comebacks in the race.
