Tom Pidcock confirms that he will lead the Pinarello Q36.5 team in the Tour de France
The 2026 Tour de France will be a key milestone for both Tom Pidcock and the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, which will debut in the most important race on the world cycling calendar after earning its place through sporting merits.
Tom Pidcock: “It’s really special that we are going to the Tour de France”
After officially learning about the teams that the Tour de France has invited to participate in 2026, the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team has confirmed that Tom Pidcock will be their leader in the event.
For Pidcock, this will not be his first participation in the Tour de France; he even has a stage victory. However, this presence now represents a new goal within a very different context, after one of the main challenges for the team in signing him was precisely to make the leap to this new competitive dimension, a step that has materialized in just one year.
“The Tour de France is the biggest cycling race in the world. So yes, being able to be there and try to perform as best as I can is an honor. I think it’s a very exciting task for us as a team, to be there in the best possible shape. It’s really special that we are going to the Tour de France this year. We have earned our place, the team, through our results from last year, that has given us the right to be there and no one can take that away from us. I think it’s a huge opportunity. I’ve had ups and downs in the Tour de France in recent years, so it’s nice now, with this new team, to earn our own place there. It’s the biggest stage we can compete on. With that comes a lot of weight, but I think this team helps me carry it all.” explained Tom Pidcock.

Beyond pure performance, the Tour demands mental resilience, clarity of objectives, and the ability to cope with constant pressure, aspects that the team considers part of its competitive identity.
“I think personally my biggest goal is to be there, to enjoy the suffering, to enjoy the intensity of the race, of the media, and of racing itself. I think if we can enjoy it and enjoy the suffering as a team, then the results will come from there. We are a team that is growing, so having the opportunity to go race the Tour is just another step on the path. Obviously, where we want to get to is to be in the Tour de France every year, racing every year for victories. So yes, it’s another step on the ladder towards where we want to go.”
For the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, participation in the Tour de France is not an endpoint, but a confirmation of the project's progress and a platform from which to define the next objectives.
