Prologo presents the new Proxim W460, an update within its Proxim range that aims to directly respond to the demands of modern downhill and other gravity disciplines. In addition to an aesthetic change, there are clear changes in structure, padding, and behavior that aim to improve control in the most challenging situations.

Prologo strengthens its gravity commitment with the new Proxim W460, a saddle designed for faster descents with greater control

The W460 is born with a clear idea: to offer a solid and predictable support point in moments when the cyclist barely sits, but when they do, maximum stability is needed. We are talking about fast sections, linked jumps, and technical areas where any loss of control comes at a cost.

Prologo has worked on the basis of the Proxim but introduces a revision in the shapes and distribution of padding. The goal is clear: to improve performance when the terrain becomes aggressive.

The new profile maintains compact dimensions of 245 by 145 mm that favor the bike's maneuverability in technical descents. This more contained format allows for easy movement around the saddle without interference, which is key in both downhill and e-MTB.

The semi-rounded V-shaped design seeks to balance two aspects that normally clash. On one hand, it offers support when the cyclist sits at specific moments. On the other, it does not limit movement when total freedom is needed.

One of the most relevant changes is the incorporation of the MSS (Multi Sector System), a concept based on dividing the padding into different independent sectors, each with specific densities.

This translates into a more refined response according to the contact area. The lateral areas gain flexibility to facilitate leg movement, while the support zones maintain firmness to ensure stability.

The result is a saddle that does not feel uniform. It responds differently depending on how and where weight is applied, which makes special sense in gravity use where position changes constantly.

The W460 also integrates Slide Control technology directly into the surface. This is a 3D print that adds texture and improves grip without blocking movement.

This point is especially important in downhill. It allows the rider to maintain position when the terrain hits hard, but without preventing the cyclist from quickly repositioning on the bike.

The base is constructed from reinforced nylon, seeking resistance to impacts and durability in extreme use. From there, Prologo offers two rail options that clearly mark two approaches.

The version with Tirox rails aims for a balance between weight and performance. The alternative with Re-Steel rails uses recycled steel and prioritizes comfort and robustness, in addition to introducing a sustainable component into the product.

Availability and prices

The Proxim W460 is already available in two differentiated configurations:

  • Tirox version weighing 241 grams and priced at 109 euros
  • Re-Steel version weighing 294 grams and priced at 79 euros
