Theft at Visma-Lease a Bike during La Vuelta a España
The Visma-Lease a Bike team, provisional leader of the Vuelta a España with Jonas Vingegaard, has suffered a major bike theft. During the night of Sunday, after the second stage in Italy, several bikes from the team were stolen from the mechanics' truck, as confirmed in a statement on Monday morning.

The stolen bikes are Cervélo S5 models equipped with SRAM Red AXS, valued at around €14,000 each, and although the team did not specify the exact number of missing units, journalist Daniel Benson suggests that it could be most of the competition fleet, but that the team would have the necessary spare parts to continue.

“Last night, our mechanics' truck was broken into and several bikes were stolen. Our mechanics are working against the clock to ensure the team is ready for the third stage. The police have already started an investigation”, said the official statement from Visma.
