The XCM will have its own independent World Cup
The Marathon mode will have its own UCI World Cup circuit, independent from the current UCI Mountain Bikes Series that until now shared with XC, Enduro, and DH modes.
The XCM will have its own World Cup
With the arrival of Warner Bros a few years ago to the management of the UCI MTB World Cup, XCM was included as another mode of the circuit shared with XC, DH, and Enduro.
But it seems that low participation, caused in part by low media exposure from the organizer, has led XCM to leave this organization to have its own World Cup. In fact, in 2024 the XCM calendar came out later than usual and in the 2025 MTB World Cup calendar, the mode was no longer included.

The Hero UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup 2025 will be a new independent series for the marathon specialty in MTB, which will no longer be part of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series.
There is currently no more information about the calendar or how the organization of this new XCM World Cup will be, but on the official competition website there is a countdown that will end in 2 days.
