The new independent XCM World Cup that we announced a few days ago is called HERO UCI CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON WORLD CUP and has just presented its calendar for 2025.

UCI has confirmed the calendar for the HERO UCI CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON WORLD CUP 2025, an international circuit that will bring together professional and amateur cyclists in five of the world's most prestigious races. Under the direction of HERO Südtirol Dolomites, this new championship aims to establish itself as the ultimate reference in the XCM discipline after breaking away from the circuit organized by Warner Bros.

Gerhard Vanzi, director of HERO, highlighted the importance of this agreement with the UCI and the challenge that its development represents. "We are proud that the UCI has placed their trust in us. Now is the time to get to work to make this new World Cup circuit a spectacular event," he stated.

The marathon discipline combines endurance and technical skill, making it a favorite among both professionals and thousands of fans looking to challenge their own limits. That's why it was not well understood why it wasn't working in the hands of the previous organizer.

Now, HERO Südtirol Dolomites, with 15 years of experience organizing one of the most demanding and iconic races in the world, will be responsible for coordinating and promoting the new XCM World Cup, ensuring a top-level circuit.

The relationship between HERO and the UCI began in 2015, when HERO Südtirol Dolomites hosted the XCM World Championship in the Italian Dolomites. Now, this agreement will allow the development of an internationally renowned event that will contribute to the growth and professionalization of the discipline until 2028.

The HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP 2025 calendar will include five of Europe's most prestigious MTB marathons, all brought together under the UCI structure for the first time in history.

Official 2025 Calendar

The HERO UCI CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON WORLD CUP 2025 will travel through Italy, Andorra, Germany, and Spain with five key events:

• May 10: Capoliveri Legend Cup - Isola d'Elba, Italy
• June 1: Naturland - Andorra
• June 14: HERO Südtirol Dolomites - Selva Val Gardena, Italy
• July 13: Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon - Kirchzarten, Germany
• September 21: La Tramun Sea Otter Europe - Girona, Spain

UCI President David Lappartient emphasized the importance of this new circuit within mountain biking. "The HERO UCI CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON WORLD CUP is a new series designed for specialists in this MTB format. We are proud to announce the 2025 calendar, which brings together some of the world's most iconic races and will guarantee epic battles in each round for the overall victory," he declared.

Fans can also compete in this XCM World Cup

In the 2025 edition of the HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP, male and female Elite cyclists can compete, fighting for the overall classification of the circuit. However, one of the big novelties this year will be the introduction of a separate classification for Master licensed cyclists, as long as they are registered with a UCI-affiliated club.

Participants must confirm their presence at each race, and their results will allow them to accumulate points for the final championship standings. The HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP will be responsible for updating and publishing the rankings after each race on the website www.heroucimarathonworldcup.com.
