The Movistar star Cian Uijtdebroeks fractures his elbow
Poor start to the season for the new signing of Movistar Team, Cian Uijtdebroeks, in the recently concluded Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, where he debuted in the colors of the telephone team. A fall in the third stage left him out of the race, and now medical checks reveal that the injuries are more serious than expected.

Forced break for Cian Uijtdebroeks after his fall in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana
It didn't seem, when Cian Uijtdebroeks fell in the final stretch of the third stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, that the incident would have serious consequences. In fact, during the live broadcast, it was noticeable that, despite showing signs of pain, the Movistar Team cyclist quickly rejoined the race and, although he was dropped, managed to finish the stage.
Given that it was an early-season race, it wasn't too surprising that he did not start in the queen stage that took place the following day. However, after undergoing the necessary medical tests, it has been revealed that Cian Uijtdebroeks suffers from a fracture in the head of the radius, near the left elbow.

Initially, it is not a serious injury, but, as is the case with any fracture, it will force the Belgian cyclist to stop for several weeks. In any case, according to the statement made by the team on social media, he has been prescribed "active rest," which, translated into the language of elite cycling preparation, means that he will likely be on the trainer tomorrow with a time trial setup on his bike to avoid putting weight on the affected area as much as possible.
The team has not yet confirmed anything regarding his return or changes to his schedule, but, at first glance, it seems complicated for him to make it to the start of Paris-Nice, the next race he had among his objectives for the beginning of 2026, which will kick off on March 8.
