Allan Peiper joins Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe as Strategic Advisor
Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe continues to strengthen its sports structure ahead of 2026. The team has announced the addition of Allan Peiper as Strategic Advisor within its performance department, a signing that brings weight, experience, and a proven tactical vision in the professional peloton.
Peiper, 65 years old, returns to the forefront of cycling after overcoming a long treatment and recovery process from prostate cancer. His name is linked to some of the most successful moments in modern cycling: he was the sports director for Tadej Poga?ar at UAE Team Emirates and one of the most influential figures in the initial development of the Slovenian. Before that, he worked with teams like T-Mobile and BMC Racing, where he stood out for his ability to design winning strategies and build cohesive teams.
Peiper's return to the WorldTour now takes place within the renewed project of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe, which faces the upcoming season with Remco Evenepoel as the main leader and Zak Dempster, former Ineos Grenadiers, as the new Chief of Sports.

In this context, Peiper will not act as a sports director during races, but will advise on strategic planning, defining the sports philosophy, and coordinating between the different performance areas. His role will focus on “turning the team's sports vision into daily performance”, as the structure explained in its official statement.
“Allan brings a unique combination of experience, strategic thinking, and humanity,” Dempster noted. “Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a great ability to inspire riders and help build winning teams. His external perspective will be a tremendous asset for us.”
For his part, Peiper expressed enthusiasm for this new stage: “I am very excited to be part of this project. Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe has made impressive progress in recent years, and I believe there is great potential to continue strengthening this structure. It’s about living a clear sports vision and transforming it into daily performance. That’s what motivates me.”
His arrival strengthens the technical core that Dempster is forming around Evenepoel, alongside figures like Oli Cookson (also from Ineos) and Sven Vanthourenhout, former Belgian national coach.
With Peiper on the team, Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe takes another step in consolidating itself as one of the most ambitious projects in current cycling.
