The Gravel World Championship 2025 already has a date and route
The fourth edition of the UCI Gravel World Championship 2025 already has a confirmed venue and route. It will be in the Zuid-Limburg region, in the south of the Netherlands, and will host the event on October 11 and 12 with a challenging and attractive course. The start will be located at Sportlandgoed De Haamen and the finish will be at Koningsplein in Maastricht, right in the heart of Groene Loper.
The Gravel World Championship 2025 has its route
Both the women's and men's races will be decided on a 50-kilometer circuit, with the women completing two and a half laps (131 km) and the men completing three and a half laps (180 km), in a counterclockwise direction.
The course, as usual in gravel world championships, will combine paved roads, dirt tracks, and trails with some rolling hills that will add an approximate elevation gain of 550 meters per lap. In total, men will accumulate around 1,925 meters of positive elevation gain and women around 1,375 m.

Van der Poel still has doubts about his recovery and adds another road race before the XCO World Championship
After previous editions in Italy and Belgium, the UCI continues to establish gravel as a global discipline. The choice of Zuid-Limburg is not random, as it is one of the regions with a strong cycling tradition in the country, known for the Amstel Gold Race, and with a perfect network of secondary roads and trails for this type of mixed races.
In 2024, the rainbow jersey went to Mathieu van der Poel and Katarzyna Niewiadoma, and both could return this year to defend their title on a terrain that combines power, tactics, and endurance.
