The first 32" XC bike hits the market: weight, price, and setups

The revolution that seemed like an isolated experiment just a few months ago is now a reality. Stoll has officially presented the P32, the first Cross Country MTB with 32” wheels produced in series. A project that the Swiss brand defines as “the biggest performance leap seen on two wheels” and which directly targets the most competitive segment of modern XCO.

We imagine that manufacturers, brands, and the UCI itself may have been playing with different timelines, but from the public's perspective, the acceleration of 32" wheels has been astonishing. In early 2025, we learned that some tire manufacturers already had 32" models in their catalogs, in July, the first prototype from BMC with this wheel size appeared, and in the following months, other brands joined with their own prototypes. Just a few weeks ago, the UCI confirmed that 32" wheels would be allowed in XC competitions and on November 20, the Swiss manufacturer Stoll was the first to announce an XC MTB ready to hit the market.

The new Stoll P32 will be available with 100 or 120 mm of travel and four different builds, with prices ranging from €9,000 to €13,000 (CHF 9,500 to CHF 14,000), as well as a frame kit weighing 1,750 g that includes a shock. The first units will begin to be delivered in April 2026.

Stoll's proposal is based on a compelling argument. Increasing the wheel diameter by almost 7 cm compared to a 29” reduces bounce, speed loss, and fatigue on loose terrain, as well as improving the attack angle in broken areas. According to the brand, the performance leap is evident in efficiency and stability at high speeds.

Internal tests convinced Stoll that 32” wheels are particularly interesting for performance-oriented racers and cyclists. So much so that production is already scheduled at the BikeAhead facilities in Würzburg, which will allow frame assembly to begin in early 2026.

Geometry

The brand prefers not to publish the complete geometry for now as it is currently a strategic point among brands, but it has revealed some measurements for sizes M and L. These two sizes cover cyclists between 170 and 192 cm.

Size M:

Stoll P32: availability and prices of the first 32" XC on the market

The P32 will first arrive in size M, with deliveries expected in April, while size L will be added in June. The brand is still studying the feasibility of a size S, something conditioned by the large wheel diameter.

The P32 will be available in 4 builds plus a frame kit and in all its variants with 100/100 mm or 120/120 mm of travel.

The official prices have been given by the brand in Swiss francs and the conversion to euros is only an estimate.
