"The fastest gravel wheels yet": this is how the new ENVE G SES are presented
ENVE has completely revamped its gravel wheel range with the new G SES, a family designed specifically for today's competitive gravel, where aerodynamics plays a leading role alongside durability and puncture protection. The brand presents them as the fastest gravel wheels in the world, but we believe they are probably the widest to date.
ENVE introduces the new G SES, a range of gravel wheels developed around aerodynamics and large volume tires
The American brand claims that the development of these wheels comes directly from working with professional riders in events such as the Gravel World Championship, the Life Time Grand Prix, or the UCI World Gravel Series. According to ENVE, the increase in speed in gravel races and the growing use of large volume tires has opened up new aerodynamic possibilities that have not been fully utilized until now.

Two philosophies within the same range
The new G SES family is divided into two main concepts. On one side is the radical G SES 6.7 PRO, the most aerodynamic and specific model in the entire range, with 60 mm profiles in the front and 67 mm in the rear and an enormous internal width of 35 mm.

Below it are the G SES 4.5 and G SES 4.5 PRO, two versions designed for a more versatile use within competitive gravel, using 49 mm profiles in the front and 55 mm in the rear along with an internal width of 30 mm.

ENVE explains that each wheel has been specifically designed for its position, using different profiles in the front and rear to optimize airflow, stability, and overall efficiency.
Designed for increasingly wider tires
One of the key points in the development has been the relationship between rim width and tire volume. According to the brand, current gravel speeds necessitate the use of wider tires not only for comfort but also to improve control and reduce the risk of punctures on fast and rough terrain. That’s why the entire G SES range is optimized for tires between 44 and 52 mm.
The G SES 6.7 PRO uses a minimum recommended tire width of 44 mm, while the G SES 4.5 and 4.5 PRO start from 40 mm.
ENVE also points out that when the difference between the internal rim width and the tire's balloon is less than 10 mm, the chances of suffering punctures from impact increase.

Hookless construction and technology inherited from MTB
The entire range employs hookless construction and utilizes technologies derived directly from ENVE's mountain bike wheels. Among them stands out the Wide Hookless Bead system, a wide and rounded bead design intended to better dissipate impact energy and reduce the risk of pinch flats.

The brand assures that its knowledge in carbon wheels for off-road use, developed over nearly two decades, has been fundamental in the design of the new G SES.
ENVE has also subjected the wheels to a specific multiple impact test where each point of the rim receives successive blows until visible structural damage is detected.
New Innerdrive hubs
The new G SES use proprietary Innerdrive hubs in two different versions. The PRO versions feature the new PRO Innerdrive, with an ultra-light body, a lightweight 40-tooth ratchet, and ceramic bearings. The hub set weighs 281 g, with 87 g in the front and 194 g in the rear.

On the other hand, the models with Premium Innerdrive prioritize ease of maintenance and durability, using stainless steel bearings and a total weight of 326 g.
