In 2025, Czech rider Ondrej Cink signed with Cube Factory Racing with the goal of leading and bringing his experience to a young project, full of Sub23 cyclists. What few of us imagined is that he would be the one to lead Cube to the top of the podium in an Elite XCO World Cup. But that's how it turned out, and he achieved it at the helm of the Cube AMS ZERO99 C:68X.

A detailed look at Ondrej Cink's Cube AMS ZERO99 C:68X that won in Leogang

German manufacturer Cube has made a strong commitment to competitive mountain biking. It has its own structure in downhill (DH), cross-country (XCO), and a development team focused on young talents. But not even they could anticipate that the best result in their history in the Elite XCO category would come from Cink.

At 35 years old, no one doubts the quality and talent of the Czech rider, one of the big names in international XCO over the last decade. However, after several seasons with more discreet performances, his signing with Cube was seen more as a strategic addition to train and guide the young riders than as a bet on immediate results. We were completely wrong.

In the most demanding race of the season so far, Cink managed to take his Cube AMS ZERO99 C:68X to the top of the podium in Leogang, proving that he is still a reference rider and that this bike is more than ready to compete at the highest level.

There were bikes with much more cutting-edge technology in Leogang, but this one was the fastest.

As for the setup, Cink had the full Shimano XTR mechanical groupset with integrated 4iii power meter (we don't know if it was a deliberate decision or because the team didn't have the new version yet), Fox Float Elite shock, Fox 34 fork, Fox Transfer dropper post, and Newmen Performance 30 XC wheels with Schwalbe Rocket Ron tires.

In Leogang, there were bikes with newer technology, but the AMS ZERO99 C:68X was the fastest. A machine optimized for elite competition, with modern and adjustable geometry, designed to maintain a balance between weight, stiffness, and technical ability. In the hands of a rider with the talent and experience of Cink, the result was a victory in the World Cup.
