Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, or Austria have new National XCO/XCC Champions in 2024
The weekend of July 12-14 has been chosen by many federations to celebrate the National XCO and XCC Championships, so we have a new generation of cyclists who will wear their country's jerseys until next year. One of the most attention-grabbing, Switzerland, ended with Nino Schurter relegated to third position due to a flat tire and Filippo Colombo and Linda Indergand as new champions.
National XCO/XCC Championships in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Ukraine, or Austria
In Spain David Campos and Sofía Rodríguez won the Short Track, while David Valero pulled off another epic comeback to make history in the national XCO and win his 9th title. Estíbaliz Sagardoy did the same to win the red and yellow jersey in the women's race.

In Switzerland, probably the country with the highest XCO level in the world, Lars Forster and Nicole Koller won the Short Track. In the XCO, Filippo Colombo took the Swiss jersey in a race marked by the absence of Mathias Fluckiger and a flat tire for Nino Schurter that prevented him from fighting for the victory, second was Joel Roth. In the women's race, Linda Indergand is the new national champion after beating Sina Frei and Nicole Koller. Alessandra Keller did not participate.

This weekend, Germany has crowned Luca Schwarzbauer and Lia Schrievers as the new National XCO 2024 Champions, in men and women respectively. While the National XCC Championship, a specialty in which Schwarzbauer did not participate, went to Leon Reinhard Kaiser and Lia Schrievers.

BH Coloma Team cyclist Raquel Queirós achieved a double win in Portugal by retaining the XCO and Short Track Championships. The Portuguese now has a total of 6 national titles. Ricardo Marinheiro also won both jerseys in the men's category.

In Austria, Specialized Factory Racing cyclist Laura Stigger also secured a double victory by winning in Short Track and XCO.

Despite the conflict with Russia, in Ukraine, Yana Belomoina has managed to win her umpteenth National XCO Championship. She now has a total of 10 titles.
After these results, still the following weekend, with one week to go until the Paris Olympics, some important National Championships will continue to be held in countries like Italy, the USA, or the UK.
