Specialized presents the Alpinist CLX III wheels with carbon spokes and the new Alpinist Cockpit II handlebar

Specialized has just presented two new components of its highly valued Alpinist series, the new Alpinist Cockpit II integrated handlebar and the renewed Alpinist CLX III wheelset with carbon fiber spokes. Both products aim to combine lightness, ergonomics, efficiency, and performance, following the philosophy of the Alpinist range.

New Alpinist handlebar and wheelset

The new Alpinist Cockpit II integrated handlebar weighs just 270 grams in size 400 x 100 mm and has been developed from over 100,000 Body Geometry fit studies with the sole purpose of improving acceleration, ride quality, and overall bike performance.

Its main novelties are:

• Oval upper zones that reduce pressure on the hands.
• 4º opening to favor the natural position of the wrists.
• 28.3% more absorption than the Rapide Cockpit, improving control and reducing fatigue.
• Internal cable routing for a clean and timeless aesthetic.
• Compatibility with traditional handlebar and stem configurations.

On the other hand, the new Alpinist CLX III wheels maintain the same profile and reliability as the previous version, but reduce weight to a spectacular 1,131 grams per set thanks to their new carbon spokes.

Key highlights of this evolution include:

• Roval Aero Composite spokes developed by Arris, 103.5 grams lighter and stronger than steel.
• New ultralight hubs with DT Swiss 180 core.
• Hooked design rims that ensure the best tire retention, increased puncture protection, and extended durability.

The Roval Alpinist II RD Cockpit handlebar is priced at €579, and the Alpinist CLX III 700C wheelset costs €1,299 for the front and €1,899 for the rear.
