Spanish national team coach expelled from the World Championships for dangerous driving during Benjamín Noval’s race

The victory of Benjamín Noval in the junior road World Championship has also left a completely non-sporting image. Eleuterio Anguita Hinojosas, the Spanish junior coach, has been expelled from the rest of the World Championship in Montreal and fined 1,060 euros after being involved in a reckless driving incident with the national team's car during the race.

The incident occurred during the men's junior race held this Thursday in Montreal. Benjamín Noval was on his way to completing a perfect World Championship, when the Spanish team's car lost ground on one of the sections of the circuit and Anguita tried to quickly regain his position in the race, but the nerves and excitement of the moment played a bad trick on him.

The images later shared on social media show the Spanish vehicle speeding through the narrow course, with spectators positioned very close to the barriers, and it seems that Anguita did not see a bump in the road and literally the car ended up taking off from the asphalt.

According to the Dutch newspaper AD, the images were verified by the organization and subsequently reviewed by the officials. The organization's decision was decisive: Eleuterio Anguita is out for the rest of the World Championship and also receives a fine of 1,060 euros.

A spectator present on the course explained to AD that the situation was particularly concerning due to the proximity of the public and stated that the incident could have had much more serious consequences.

The sanction means that Anguita will not be able to continue performing his duties for the remainder of the World Championship in Montreal.
