Shimano partners with the new Canyon × DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing team
Shimano has announced its collaboration with the Canyon × DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing, a new professional team designed to compete without discipline labels and adapt to the current evolution of off-road racing. The project, known as The Wildcards, is born with an international structure of 13 cyclists from five nationalities with the clear aim of performing in disciplines as diverse as gravel, ultra-endurance, cyclocross, MTB marathon, and hybrid formats, as required by each calendar.

Shimano joins the Canyon × DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing project
The philosophy of All-Terrain Racing (ATR) is based on adaptability. Instead of specializing in a single category, the team will face challenges on different surfaces and distances, from high-intensity efforts to prolonged endurance challenges, both inside and outside the traditional competitive circuit.
Bikes and components
The team will compete with selected Canyon Factory Racing (CFR) bikes based on the terrain. The Grail CFR will be the main tool for gravel, a model with reference victories in Unbound and The Traka, while in ultra-endurance and marathon events, some riders will turn to MTB models like the Exceed CFR or the Lux World Cup CFR.

All bikes will be equipped with high-end Shimano drivetrains and brakes: DURA-ACE, XTR, and GRX specific for gravel, all with Di2, prioritizing reliability and robustness in highly variable scenarios.
Shimano emphasizes the rapid growth of gravel and its impact on tactics, competitive level, and audience. Tommaso Amadio, Director of Sports and Events at Shimano Europe, highlights that this collaboration with Canyon reflects a long-term commitment to innovation and performance, as well as a solid technical connection between both brands.

The ATR approach responds to an increasingly common reality of athletes transitioning between disciplines and races that expand beyond asphalt. Under this vision, endurance, judgment, and resilience weigh as much as pure speed.
The team brings together profiles with non-linear trajectories, coming from cyclocross, MTB, or gravel, who now compete in marathon, ultra-endurance, and long-distance off-road events:
- Alex McCormack (Great Britain)
- Bradyn Lange (United States)
- Caro Schiff (Germany)
- Frederik Raßmann (Germany)
- Jade Treffeisen (Germany)
- Jasper Ockeloen (Netherlands)
- Jordan Schleck (Uganda)
- Juri Hollmann (Germany)
- Larissa Hartog (Netherlands)
- Luca Dreßler (Germany)
- Marei Moldenhauer (Germany)
- Mathijs Loman (Netherlands)
- Nele Laing (Germany)
With the motto “Compete in everything,” Canyon × DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing presents itself as a team designed to perform on gravel, mud, snow, or rock, without being limited by regulations, distances, or surfaces.
